Earthquakes
Earthquakes are a fairly common occurrence in Japan. There was one on the North end of the main island last night that measured around 6.8 if I could understand the news alright. We felt it here in Tokyo, but it wasn’t that big. Definitely not something I am used to! I’ve never experienced an earthquake before. You see them on TV all the time and it looks like it “shakes,” but I’d describe it more as “wobbles.” Imagine the earth is like a sheet someone is whipping onto the bed; you feel the ripples. Hopefully I won’t have to experience a big one.

Okey dokey Sir Jim - you asked what I’d like from Japan… I would be ecstatic about any of the following:
-coins (yes, I’m a numismatist!)
-a really awesome postcard (I collect those, too)
-a patch, ie. one that would be sewn onto a backpack (I collect those, too…)
-nifty looking stamps, either new or cancelled (…I am a philatelist also)
-a Hello Kitty or ChocoCat item of your choice (…yes. Collect.)
-…or just take lots and lots of really incredibly awesome photos and show them to me
Question: what was that building in the photo labelled “Japanese Architecture”? Any idea? It’s super-nifter.
-me
Alright — look forward to getting home and giving everyone cool presents.
Keep an eye on Em for me and give her a big hug when you see her.
Umm… no idea what that building was. I think it’s some sort of auditorium since it was right beside the Tokyo School of Music. If I go by it again, I’ll be sure to ask.
Mata ne!
